Who it is for
Small HVAC shops that quote replacements and larger repairs in good-better-best form at the kitchen table or by link.
Not a fit if
You need sizing calculations, manufacturer ordering, or construction bid management. A proposal is a quote and a signature, nothing more.

Financing estimates and the signed record
When you turn on the financing display, the customer view shows an estimated monthly amount for each option, based on the rate and term you enter, with a plain note that it is an estimate and not an offer of credit. Present mode strips the screen down so you can hold the phone or tablet out to the homeowner. After the customer picks an option and any add-ons, they type their name, draw a signature and accept. TierMenu locks the approved proposal and generates a signed PDF, which stays attached to the record for the office and the invoice that follows.
Build options from approved work
Start with tasks your company has reviewed and priced, then group them into options that represent genuinely different scopes. A good-better-best presentation is useful only when each option has a clear reason to exist. Explain what changes between the choices: the work included, equipment or materials selected, or service coverage offered. Avoid using a higher tier as a dumping ground for unrelated extras. TierMenu supports one to four options and allows one to be marked as recommended. Owners can maintain task prices and private cost information separately from the customer-facing proposal.
Keep add-ons separate from the selected option
Optional work should be easy to identify and should not appear required unless it is necessary to complete the scope. Place add-ons beside the options so the homeowner can make an informed selection. Keep descriptions direct: say what the add-on covers and where its limits are. If an item depends on a diagnostic finding, do not present it as confirmed before that inspection. A proposal should reflect what the technician observed and what the homeowner asked to address. Clear distinctions reduce confusion during approval and make the saved selection useful when the office prepares an invoice or reviews the completed job.
Present the proposal at the home or remotely
A technician can show the proposal on a phone or tablet, use a full-screen present mode and review the options with the customer. The homeowner can select the preferred option and sign on the device. For a customer who is not on site, send a link for remote review and approval. The signature and selected option are saved with the proposal, and a signed PDF is retained. Signing is a customer authorization record; it does not guarantee payment, replace required consumer disclosures or determine whether the proposed work complies with local law.
Keep a traceable record of changes
Once a proposal is approved and signed, its accepted scope should not silently change. TierMenu locks approved proposals and preserves the signed PDF. If the scope changes, duplicate the proposal or create a separate change order rather than editing the accepted document in place. Track expiry and proposal status so the office can distinguish draft work from a sent quote or approved selection. This record helps staff answer what was presented and accepted. It does not replace a company retention policy or customer communication process. Confirm proposal terms against your local requirements.
Understand the limits of a proposal tool
TierMenu focuses on service and replacement quotes for small shops. It does not schedule technicians, dispatch crews, collect online payments, finance purchases or perform takeoffs from commercial plans. You can use its pricing and proposal workflow alongside your current tools, but should not expect those systems to synchronize automatically. Before sending a proposal, confirm the customer, service location, task descriptions, option totals and expiry date. Check the final PDF and ensure every promised service is actually included in the selected scope.
Prepare the homeowner conversation before presenting
The software can arrange choices, but the technician still needs to explain why the options differ. Before opening present mode, decide which findings support each scope and which questions remain unanswered. Use the same terms on screen that you would use in a spoken explanation, and avoid unexplained abbreviations. Confirm optional add-ons are not confused with required work. After the discussion, let the homeowner review the selected option and total before signing. A clear pause for questions is more useful than adding extra options. Keep any scope clarification that affects the proposal available to the office so staff can follow the same understanding when the customer calls later.

FAQ
How many choices can an HVAC proposal include?
TierMenu supports one to four options and lets the company mark a recommended choice. Use only the options that represent meaningful differences in scope, materials or service coverage.
Can the homeowner approve a proposal remotely?
Yes. Send a proposal link for remote review. The customer can select an option and sign; the chosen option and signed PDF are stored with the proposal.
Can a signed proposal be edited?
Approved proposals are locked. If the scope changes, create a new proposal or a change order rather than altering the signed record. This preserves the original approved scope and signature.
Does proposal software collect payment?
No. TierMenu records approval and generates documents, but does not process homeowner payments. Invoices include your payment instructions so you can collect payment through your existing method.
Is this software for commercial HVAC bids?
It is for service and replacement quotes and small jobs. It does not perform commercial blueprint takeoff, manage subcontractor bids or replace construction estimating software.
