Device-level quotes with member pricing
A homeowner often wants several small things done on one visit: a few receptacles, a dimmer, a ceiling fan box. Quoting each as its own task keeps the document readable and makes it easy for the customer to drop one line. TierMenu quotes at that level. If the household has an active maintenance agreement, member pricing applies automatically to eligible tasks, and the savings appear on the quote. The approval link opens on any phone, and the customer signs on screen, so approval can happen the same day without paper.
Quote work that has been assessed
Start with the customer's request and the site conditions a qualified technician has verified. Keep assumptions separate from observed facts, and identify what still needs investigation. If the proposed repair depends on access or testing, explain that before sending a fixed quote. Choose a diagnostic task when the final scope is not yet known. This approach helps the homeowner understand what the first approval covers and avoids making a price appear to guarantee a result beyond the work described.
Make every line clear
Use task names and descriptions that identify the work rather than relying on internal abbreviations. Separate unrelated work so the customer can see each part of the quote. If an option adds equipment or service, label the difference. The owner controls labor, materials and markup in the price book; the technician sees the resulting customer price. Review the task list before presenting it, and make sure exclusions or follow-up work are not hidden in a note that the customer could miss.
Let the customer compare and choose
When the technician can offer more than one suitable approach, create distinct options and explain what changes between them. Mark a recommendation only when there is a clear reason to recommend it. Optional add-ons should be selected separately. The customer can review the proposal on site or through a remote link, choose an option and sign. TierMenu keeps the accepted selection with the proposal and stores a signed PDF. A signature records approval; it does not verify the technical appropriateness of the work or confirm payment.
Protect the record when scope changes
If the technician discovers new conditions after the quote is accepted, describe the new work and obtain approval before proceeding according to the company's process. Create a revised proposal or change order rather than editing the signed document. Keep the original and revised records so the office can explain what was first approved and what changed. When the job is complete, the approved proposal can support an invoice, but the completed work and any approved changes still need to be checked.
Match the app to the shop
TierMenu is built for small electrical service and replacement quotes and small jobs. It supports pricing, proposals, maintenance agreements and simple invoices, but not dispatch, inventory, accounting sync, online payment or commercial plan takeoff. Keep existing systems for those needs. The contractor remains responsible for licensing, permits, electrical code and local contract terms. Test the quote on a representative job and review the PDF, role permissions and customer approval flow before relying on it.
Use approval as a handoff, not a technical shortcut
After the homeowner chooses an option, confirm that the accepted scope is ready for the next internal step. A signature records which proposal option the customer approved; it does not confirm that every condition has been checked or that payment has been received. If a permit, inspection or additional review is still needed, keep that requirement visible in the shop's process. When the work is complete, compare it with the approved proposal and document any authorized changes before invoicing. This keeps the app's role clear: it records commercial approval while the contractor remains accountable for technical work and compliance.
Keep the quote useful after the first conversation
A homeowner may return to the quote days after the technician leaves. Make the service address, proposed tasks and options clear enough to review without a verbal explanation. If the recommendation depends on a condition observed during the visit, describe the reason in customer-friendly language and avoid unsupported technical promises. Preserve unanswered questions as follow-up items in the shop's process. Once a customer signs, use the saved selection when preparing the next document. If the work changes, request approval again and keep the original proposal intact so the record remains understandable.

FAQ
Can I send an electrical quote to a customer remotely?
Yes. Send the proposal link for remote review. The homeowner can choose an option and sign, and the saved selection and signed PDF remain in the proposal record.
Can the app recommend the right electrical repair?
No. A qualified technician evaluates the property and decides which work is appropriate. The app helps present approved tasks and options after that assessment.
Can I add optional work to a quote?
Yes. Add-ons can be presented separately from the main option so customers can see whether they are choosing additional work.
Does TierMenu process deposits or card payments?
No. TierMenu records proposal approval and creates simple invoices, but it does not process payments. Use your existing payment method and instructions.
Can it bid commercial electrical plan sets?
No. It supports service and replacement quotes and small jobs, not commercial blueprint takeoff or large construction bid management.
