HVAC bid software for residential replacement jobs

HVAC bid software for replacement jobs builds a residential bid with options, add-ons and a customer signature. TierMenu is not commercial plan takeoff software, and it says so plainly.

Who it is for

HVAC shops bidding homeowner replacements who want comparable options and a signed approval.

Not a fit if

You measure ductwork or equipment schedules from commercial drawings. A takeoff tool is the better choice for that, because it reads plans and counts quantities.

When a takeoff tool is the better choice

A bid for a house is usually built from a site visit: the existing system, the condition of the ducts, the options you can offer. That is a pricing and presentation problem, and TierMenu is built for it. A bid for a commercial building starts from drawings and needs quantities counted off the plan, schedules compared and addenda tracked. That is a takeoff problem, and it needs software that reads plans. If most of your volume looks like the second case, use a takeoff product for the numbers. If you also do residential replacements, TierMenu can still be the layer that prices and presents them.

Match the tool to the type of bid

A residential service quote usually starts with a visit, an observed issue or a replacement conversation at the property. A commercial construction bid may require plan takeoff, labor assemblies, subcontractor coordination, bid forms and project controls. Those are different workflows. TierMenu supports the first category: a small shop selects defined service tasks, groups them into proposal options, states assumptions and captures a signature. If your team estimates commercial work from blueprints, you need a dedicated estimating system for that process. Do not treat this product as a plan-measurement or commercial bidding tool.

Build the quote from the inspected scope

Use the price book to select work the technician has confirmed is appropriate for the property. If more information is needed, create a diagnostic or assessment step rather than presenting a repair as certain. Separate the choices when the homeowner can choose among meaningful scopes, and keep optional work distinct from the core bid. Include assumptions and exclusions so the customer can tell what the amount covers. This is especially important when equipment condition, access, venting or other site factors may change the work after inspection.

Use company-controlled pricing

Task prices are based on the labor and material inputs your business supplies. The owner can configure a billable rate, markup tiers, fixed fees and rounding rules. TierMenu shows the owner cost and margin details while keeping them private from technicians. Review the proposed price against your actual costs and the confirmed scope before presenting the bid. The starter price-book library provides task names and descriptions, not recommended HVAC rates. No software can decide whether the final amount is appropriate for every region or business.

Present and preserve homeowner approval

A clear bid explains the options and gives the homeowner a practical way to approve the selected scope. TierMenu can show a proposal on the device or send a remote link for review. The customer selection and signature are retained with the proposal, and the signed PDF remains available as a record. If the scope changes after approval, create a revised proposal or change order. A signed quote is not a payment and does not remove the need for required disclosures, permits or local contract terms.

Know what is not included

TierMenu does not measure plans, produce commercial takeoffs, schedule or dispatch technicians, process payment or sync directly with accounting software. It focuses on price books, proposals, maintenance agreements and simple invoices for small shops. If those limits match your work, use the sample proposal and test a representative service or replacement quote. If your bidding process depends on blueprint quantities, project phases or subcontractor packages, choose a system intended for commercial construction estimating instead.

Screen the bid request before preparing it

Ask what document the customer expects and how the scope will be measured. A repair request based on an on-site inspection may fit a service quote. A bid invitation that asks for drawing-based quantities, multiple subcontractors, schedule commitments or a formal construction package needs a different estimating workflow. Do not omit those requirements and then present a service proposal as if it were a complete bid response. If the project is within TierMenu's scope, verify that each task comes from inspected work, make exclusions visible and retain the approval record. This screening prevents a mismatch between the tool and the customer's requirements.

FAQ

Can I use TierMenu for residential HVAC replacement bids?

Yes, for small service and replacement quotes. Build the proposal from the scope confirmed at the property, and review the customer-facing options and assumptions before sending.

Does it perform commercial blueprint takeoff?

No. TierMenu does not measure commercial plans or calculate construction quantities. It is designed for HVAC service and replacement quotes and small jobs.

Can the proposal include several options?

Yes. Use distinct options when they represent real differences in work or equipment. Keep optional add-ons separate and mark a recommendation only when you can explain it.

Does TierMenu set HVAC bid prices?

No. Your business supplies labor, materials and markup rules. Owners can inspect calculated costs and margins, but the company remains responsible for reviewing and approving each price.

Can the customer sign a bid remotely?

Yes. A remote proposal link supports review and signature. TierMenu saves the customer's selected option and signed PDF with the proposal record.
