Who it is for
Plumbing shops whose copper, PEX, valve and fixture costs move and who want prices to follow without a weekend of edits.
Not a fit if
You expect live supplier price feeds. TierMenu imports a CSV you provide and does not connect to supplier systems.

Material price changes, SKUs and CSV import
Each material carries a name, unit cost, optional SKU and optional vendor, so the same fitting from two suppliers does not get confused. When a supplier sends a new price list, import it from a CSV: TierMenu shows a validation preview before anything is saved, so a bad column or a blank cost is caught first. For a broad swing, such as copper rising a few percent, use the bulk percent change on the materials you select. The preview lists each old cost, the new cost and the effect on formula-priced tasks. Apply it only when the numbers look right.
Use a pricing model you can explain
Set the billable rate, burdened labor cost, material markup tiers, optional fixed fees and rounding rule your company has decided to use. Formula-based task prices combine the task labor and material assumptions with these settings. That gives the owner a view of how the price is formed instead of requiring a hidden calculation. Keep task hours tied to a defined scope and verify the material list before approving the price. TierMenu does not recommend what a plumbing company should charge and does not promise a target margin; the owner reviews whether the assumptions match actual operations.
Control who can see pricing details
The owner may need to see true cost and gross margin, while a technician needs only the approved customer price and work description. TierMenu separates those views by role so the technician can prepare a proposal without seeing burdened labor cost or markup tiers. Make sure every team member has the correct role and keep owner credentials secure. If your company allows technicians to edit the price book, review that permission deliberately. Role separation helps protect internal pricing data, but it does not replace an internal approval policy or periodic review of price changes.
Review bulk changes before applying them
A change to the labor rate can affect many formula-priced tasks. Use the preview to inspect proposed price changes and verify that they remain aligned with the task scope. Check manually priced tasks separately; they do not recalculate from the formula. If the material assumptions changed only for one category, update the affected entries rather than applying a broad adjustment. Save a clear note about why the change was made using your company's own review process. A careful preview makes a large update easier to assess before technicians begin using the new prices.
Turn prices into homeowner proposals
Once tasks are ready, a technician can use them in a proposal and explain alternatives to the customer. Separate each real repair or replacement choice, label optional work and review the total before sending. TierMenu supports good-better-best style options, remote approval and a signed PDF. The customer sees the scope and price, not internal cost calculations. The selected approved proposal can support a simple invoice later. Payment collection, accounting sync, scheduling and dispatch remain outside TierMenu and should stay in the company's existing tools.
Check the limits before changing your process
TierMenu is for small HVAC, plumbing and electrical service shops that want price books, proposals, maintenance agreements and simple invoices. It is not an inventory system, accounting package, commercial takeoff tool or all-in-one field-service platform. Test a representative plumbing task, review the estimate as a customer and verify how team roles behave before rolling the workflow out. Keep licensing, permits, taxes and local requirements under the company's control, and have a qualified adviser review any customer-facing terms.
Use the calculation as a review aid, not a price guarantee
When an owner sees the price breakdown, compare each input with the way the plumbing task is actually performed. Labor assumptions should include the defined visit, not an unrelated contingency; material costs should represent items the company expects to use; and the markup rule should follow the shop's policy. If a task routinely needs additional parts, update the task instead of relying on technicians to remember an undocumented adjustment. Have a second person review major changes and preview their effect before applying them. TierMenu makes the arithmetic consistent, but the business decides whether the scope and rate are suitable for its customers.
How it works in TierMenu
- Step 1
Keep materials current
Add parts with cost, SKU and vendor, or import a supplier CSV after previewing.
- Step 2
Preview the change
Raise or lower selected materials by a percent and see old and new prices.
- Step 3
Apply with confidence
Formula tasks update. Manual prices stay as they are and are flagged for review.
TierMenu, a spreadsheet and a paper price book

|---|---|---|---|
| Supplier price list arrives | Import the CSV, review the validation preview, apply | Paste into a tab and repair formulas | Retype the lines that changed |
| Percent change on copper | Preview and apply to the selected materials | Multiply a column, check each task | Estimate which pages to reprint |
| Which vendor and SKU | Fields on every material | Extra columns that drift | Handwritten margin notes |
FAQ
Does TierMenu recommend what a plumbing company should charge?
No. Your company decides its labor rate, material costs, markup and rounding. The app applies those rules to formula-priced tasks and gives owners a breakdown for review.
Can a technician see markup tiers?
No. Cost and markup information is restricted to the authorized owner view. Technicians see the customer-facing price and task description needed to prepare a proposal.
Will manual task prices update when my rate changes?
No. Formula prices recalculate using updated settings, but manually priced tasks need a separate review. Use the bulk preview and inspect the affected tasks before applying changes.
Can this replace my plumbing dispatch software?
No. TierMenu does not schedule or dispatch work, manage inventory or sync with accounting. It handles pricing, proposals, maintenance agreements and simple invoices alongside your existing tools.
Does it include pre-priced plumbing tasks?
No. The starter library includes names and descriptions, not sell prices. You decide which tasks to use and enter your own labor, material and markup assumptions.
