The quoting layer
Field service work has layers: booking the visit, sending the technician, quoting the work, doing it, billing it. Many tools try to cover all of them and do the quoting layer as an afterthought. TierMenu is the opposite. It covers pricing, options, approval and a simple invoice, and stops there. If your dispatch system books the call and records the job, TierMenu is where the technician builds the quote at the door.
Why it works beside your dispatch tool
There is no integration to build. The technician opens TierMenu in a browser on a phone, finds the customer or creates one, builds the quote and sends the link. The office keeps its dispatch system for the schedule and the job record. Customer details can be entered once in TierMenu or imported from a CSV, so you are not starting from nothing. This is deliberate: it keeps the setup short, and it means you can try it on a few quotes without changing how the rest of the day runs.
What the technician needs at the door
Speed and clarity. A searchable price book, a few taps to put tasks on options, a total the customer can read, and a way to get a yes. Present mode puts the quote on the screen for the customer. A text or email link covers the customer who is not home. Costs and margins stay hidden from technician accounts, so the person quoting sees only what the customer should see.
What the office gets
A record of every proposal with its status, and for the approved ones, the signed PDF. Maintenance agreements and invoices sit in the same account. Nothing is posted to accounting or the dispatch system, so the office decides what to carry over. That is a trade-off: less automation, but no integration to maintain and no surprise entries in your books.
Fit and limits
If your priority is a single system for scheduling, routing, timesheets and billing, TierMenu is not that, and it will not become that. If your priority is consistent prices and a stronger sales conversation, with your current dispatch tool untouched, it fits. A short trial on real quotes is the best way to find out.
A simple way to try it
Pick one technician and one category of work. Load the tasks from the starter list, set your numbers, and have that technician quote the next ten jobs. Compare the time taken, the number approved on the spot and the number of questions from the office. Expand only if the results justify it. The trial is free for 14 days and needs no credit card.
Questions to ask any quoting tool
Whatever you choose, ask a few direct questions. Who can see cost and margin? How are price changes made, and can you preview them? What does the customer see, and does it work on any phone without an app? What happens after approval: is the record locked, and can you produce a signed PDF? What does it cost per month for the whole team, not per user? And what happens to your data if you leave? Honest answers to these matter more than a long feature list, and you should get them in writing from any vendor you consider.
What a trial should prove
A trial should answer one question: does it make quoting faster and more consistent for your people? Measure the minutes from arriving to a sent quote before and after. Count how many quotes were approved while the technician was still at the home. Ask the technicians whether they would keep using it without being told to. If all three look better, extend it to the rest of the shop. If not, you have lost two weeks and no money.

FAQ
Does TierMenu replace my dispatch software?
No. It does not schedule, route or track technicians. It adds quoting next to the tool you already use.
Does it integrate with my scheduling system?
Not in this version. Customers can be entered or imported by CSV, and you keep both systems side by side.
Who can see costs and margin?
Owner accounts. Technician accounts see task descriptions and sell prices only.
How many people can use it?
The plan covers up to 5 users for your whole shop. See the pricing page for the details.
Can I try it without changing my workflow?
Yes. Quote a few jobs with a 14-day free trial and no credit card, then decide.
