Who it is for
Service plumbers who price repairs and replacements on site and want a clear estimate with options, photos and a signature.
Not a fit if
You count fixtures and pipe from architectural plans. A takeoff product reads those drawings; TierMenu does not.

Water heaters, fixtures and drains with photos
Photos change how a homeowner reads an estimate. A picture of the corroded fitting or the failing tank sits next to the line that fixes it, so the price has context. In TierMenu you attach photos to a proposal from your phone, then group tasks into options: a repair that restores service, a replacement with a better unit, and any extras the customer may add. Water heater estimates often need disposal, venting and a permit line, so add those as tasks or fixed fees rather than leaving them for the invoice. The result is a document that explains the work as well as pricing it.
Record the customer, location and observed issue
Start by selecting the correct customer and service location. Record the homeowner's request and the condition the technician actually observed, keeping those facts separate from possible causes. Plumbing work can depend on access, material type, shutoff condition and what appears after an assembly is opened. If the diagnosis is not complete, quote the diagnostic step rather than a repair that has not been confirmed. A proposal tied to the right location and clear observation is easier for the customer to review and for the office to revisit later.
Select tasks that match the defined work
Use the price book to select company-approved tasks for the current scope. Review the customer description and note any assumption or exclusion that could change what is performed. If the job contains separate work, list the tasks separately so the customer can see what is included. Keep optional work separate from necessary work. TierMenu calculates formula prices from your labor rate, labor time, material costs and markup rules; the company sets those inputs and reviews the result. The starter library does not supply pre-priced plumbing estimates.
Show repair paths without overstating certainty
When the inspection supports more than one approach, present distinct options and explain the difference in scope. For example, a limited repair and a broader replacement should not be described as equivalent if they address different conditions. If additional work may be required after access or testing, state that the quoted amount covers only the confirmed scope and obtain approval before proceeding with changes. TierMenu supports up to four proposal options, a recommended option and optional add-ons. The technician—not the software—decides what work is appropriate after inspection.
Get approval and preserve the selected scope
Present the estimate on a phone or tablet, or send a link for the homeowner to review remotely. The customer can select an option and sign. TierMenu stores the chosen option and signed PDF with the proposal. Review the customer name, service address, descriptions, options, add-ons and totals before sending. If the work changes after approval, create a revised proposal or change order rather than editing the signed record. This preserves a useful history of what the customer accepted.
Use a purpose-built estimate workflow
TierMenu is designed for plumbing service and replacement quotes and small jobs. It does not measure commercial blueprints, manage subcontractor bids, dispatch technicians, collect online payment or sync with accounting. Keep using those tools for the workflows they cover. The company remains responsible for permits, code requirements, taxes and verifying work conditions. Before adopting the app, create a test estimate using a real task from your shop, review the PDF and confirm that the proposal language matches your customer's expectations.
Keep a clean path from inspection to invoice
The estimate should preserve the reason a task was selected and the scope the customer accepted. If the technician finds a new condition, describe the added work and seek updated approval before it appears on the invoice. Use the selected proposal option as the starting point for the invoice, then compare it with the completed work record. The customer should not have to infer why a line changed between documents. A consistent record also helps office staff answer follow-up questions without changing the original signed proposal. This is especially useful when a repair involved separate access, replacement or testing steps.

FAQ
Can I prepare an estimate at the customer's home?
Yes. TierMenu's price book and proposal flow are designed for phone and tablet use. Confirm the service location, inspection findings, task scope and totals before presenting the estimate.
Does the app diagnose plumbing problems?
No. The technician inspects and diagnoses the issue. TierMenu organizes the confirmed work into tasks and proposal options; it does not make technical or code decisions.
Can I include a repair and replacement choice?
Yes, when the inspection supports both. Describe what differs between options, keep add-ons separate and avoid presenting unconfirmed work as required.
Can a customer approve remotely?
Yes. Send a proposal link so the customer can review options, select one and sign. The selected scope and signed PDF remain attached to the proposal.
Does it support commercial plumbing takeoff?
No. TierMenu supports service and replacement quotes and small jobs. It does not measure commercial plans or manage large construction bids.
