R-454B PT Chart: Bubble and Dew Pressures
At 40°F, R-454B's liquid (bubble) pressure is about 112 psig and its vapor (dew) pressure is about 107 psig. This chart lists both columns from −40°F through 150°F using the Chemours Opteon XL41 table, converted from psia to psig. Lookups interpolate only between one-degree rows. It is a reference, not a charging target. Use the TierMenu chart below to look up other values.

How to use this saturation chart
At a known temperature, find the corresponding saturation pressure. At a known pressure, find the corresponding bubble and dew saturation temperatures. The interactive lookup uses the committed one-degree data and linear interpolation between adjacent rows. It returns no result outside −40°F to 150°F.
Superheat uses the dew (saturated vapor) temperature at suction pressure. Subcooling uses the bubble (saturated liquid) temperature at liquid pressure. The matching calculators handle those differences, but only the equipment manufacturer can specify the target and required operating conditions.
For blend refrigerants, retain the bubble/dew distinction. R-454B is shown as liquid/bubble and vapor/dew from its source table; the source pressure is converted from psia to psig. R-454B and R-32 require A2L service procedures. The R-22 chart is for servicing existing systems only.
Source and assumptions
- Data source: Thermodynamic Properties of Opteon XL41 (R-454B).
- The source table gives psia; the chart converts to psig by subtracting 14.696 psi. Liquid/bubble and vapor/dew remain separate.
- Lookup range: −40°F to 150°F in one-degree rows. Intermediate values use linear interpolation; out-of-range values are not extrapolated.
- This chart does not set a charging target. Follow equipment instructions and applicable refrigerant safety requirements.
R-454B PT chart FAQs
What is an R-454B PT chart?
It pairs saturation temperature with R-454B liquid (bubble) and vapor (dew) pressure. The displayed psig values cover −40°F through 150°F.
Where does the R-454B data come from?
The chart uses the Chemours Opteon XL41 pressure-temperature table. Its source values are psia; the displayed gauge pressures subtract 14.696 psi.
Why show bubble and dew separately?
R-454B is a blend with temperature glide. The chart keeps liquid/bubble and vapor/dew readings separate rather than combining them.
Does the chart determine a charging target?
No. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions and the operating conditions specified for the system.
What safety class does R-454B have?
R-454B is an A2L refrigerant. Follow required A2L service procedures and the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
