Who it is for
Service plumbers who want to hand over or email an invoice before leaving the job and keep a record of what was sent.
Not a fit if
You need to collect card payments inside the invoice or run full bookkeeping. Keep your payment method and accounting software separate.

Invoice on site after the repair
The best time to invoice is when the customer is looking at the finished work. Create the invoice from the approved proposal, or start a blank one for a job that grew on site. Add any extra line for work you did beyond the approval, review the total and send it to the homeowner by email while you are still there. The invoice carries your payment instructions, so the customer knows whether to hand over a check, send a transfer or follow whatever method you use. Every invoice stays in the list with its status and PDF, which makes questions a month later easy to answer.
Start from the work the customer approved
When the plumbing work was quoted and approved in TierMenu, create the invoice from the saved proposal selection. This connects the invoice to the accepted option and customer record. Review the work before issuing it, especially if the technician found a new condition or performed an additional task. If the scope changed, document the change and obtain customer approval rather than treating the original proposal as permission for new work. A blank invoice is available for service that was not quoted through TierMenu, but the description and amounts still need to be checked by the office.
Make line descriptions useful to the customer
Use clear task names that identify which fixture, system or service location the work relates to. Include enough detail that a homeowner can understand why the line appears, while avoiding internal notes that do not belong on a customer document. If a repair depended on a condition found during service, state the work that was actually performed. Review the totals, taxes, invoice terms and payment instructions. The business decides how its invoice should address tax, discounts, fees and legal notices; TierMenu does not determine those rules.
Send the invoice and track its status
Generate a branded PDF and email it to the customer from the app. Draft, Sent, Paid and Void statuses give the office a simple view of where the invoice stands. Mark an invoice as paid only after confirming receipt through your chosen payment method. TierMenu does not connect to a bank or processor to verify the transaction, so the office remains responsible for matching the payment to its external record. Void an invoice only when it should no longer be collected, and retain a clear customer communication trail.
Keep changes connected to the original approval
If the customer approved one scope and the completed work differs, keep the quote and invoice history understandable. Reference the original proposal, document additional work and retain the customer's updated approval. The invoice should not silently overwrite an accepted proposal. Reviewing the selected option and saved line items before creating an invoice helps avoid mismatches. If a customer disputes a line, the technician or office can use the approved proposal and service notes to explain what was authorized and performed.
Use invoicing alongside your existing accounting
TierMenu is for simple service invoices, not accounting, collections automation, payroll, dispatch or payment processing. Use your established payment method and accounting workflow to collect and reconcile funds. Keep the customer instructions current and avoid promising online payment if you have not enabled a payment provider. Before sending your first invoice, verify company branding, payment text, customer details and PDF layout. If the app does not match the controls your bookkeeper needs, continue to use your accounting product for those records.
Establish a short office review before sending
A small shop can reduce avoidable invoice corrections by checking a few details before email: customer and location, work description, accepted scope, tax setting, total and payment instructions. When the invoice begins from a proposal, verify that the chosen option and any approved changes are represented accurately. When it begins blank, confirm that the line items match the service record. If an invoice is voided, make sure the customer receives a clear explanation through your normal communication channel. TierMenu tracks the status you set; your staff still controls accounting and payment records.

FAQ
Can I make an invoice from an approved plumbing quote?
Yes. Create an invoice from the approved proposal and its saved customer selection. Review that the performed work and amounts match the accepted scope before sending.
Can I invoice work that was not quoted in TierMenu?
Yes. Start a blank invoice, enter the customer and work details, and check the totals and payment instructions. The office remains responsible for verifying the information.
Can the customer pay through the invoice?
TierMenu does not process online payments. Add your existing payment instructions to the invoice and collect payment through the method your business already uses.
Does it sync invoices to accounting?
No. TierMenu does not have accounting sync in this version. Continue to record and reconcile invoices and payments in your accounting system.
How do invoice statuses work?
The app supports Draft, Sent, Paid and Void. Staff update the status to reflect events they have confirmed; the app does not independently verify bank or processor transactions.
